I purchased Camtasia Studio 8 to create video tutorials for a class I teach at a local university. I have to say that it can certainly perform that task. Rather than think about it as a piece of software, one should look at Camtasia Studio as a video production environment. Because Camtasia has its own way of completing various tasks, one really needs to integrate a specific workflow into your video productions. If you have ever tried to learn PhotoShop, you will understand what I mean.

I recommend that you obtain some type of Camtasia Studio tutorial if you are new to Camtasia Studio. I used the course published by iConlogic. While it does teach you the basics about using Camtasia Studio, this particular course needs to be updated to reflect the current version of the software.
