Problem activating Office Professional Plus – Microsoft Community
If you’ve tried the earlier troubleshooting steps and Office is still unlicensed, you can troubleshoot activation failures yourself. Check your computer’s date, time, and time zone.
Run Office as administrator. Update Office. Check your firewall. Check your antivirus software. Check your proxy settings.

I own a license in form of a product key for Office Professional Plus and have been using it on previous installs on this very machine without issue before and have not made any significant changes to this computers hardware since mainboard, cpu , but as I reinstalled the Office Suite recently and tried to activate it the activation says it is successful, but all the programs in the Office suite remain unlicensed afterwards.

When I click “Use a different account” instead there are the options “Sign In”, “Create an account”, “I don’t want to sign in or create an account” and “What is a Microsoft account?

Instead you’ve gone to all of this trouble for no good reason. What I’d do now is go back to that location in Settings to uninstall the older version of Office. Restart the PC, then install Office properly.

A possible reason on why you’re having issues on the version of Office you’re installing on your device, could be from where you downloaded it.
