I’ve encountered this when trying to upgrade from Offfice to and have had nothing but grief with the process. I’ve read and followed virtually every suggestion with no resolution What I need here is a legitimate fix for the install problem I have Come Microsoft, support this, you’ve got my money now I’d like to have the use of the program that I’m struggling to install XP OS.

As you have mentioned that you have Office installed on the computer, you may run the fix from the below link to remove the traces of Office completely from the computer:. I recently downloaded Office professional plus under the microsoft HUP home use programme. I have downloaded the files and when i run them setup starts and all seems well. When the install gets so far it will stop and the progress bar goes back as if starting again then a short while later it will stop completely and a message comes up saying ” setup has encountered and error and will close” it does not give an error code. I have tried this several times and each time it has done the same.
I have also tried re-downloading the files from microsoft as i though they may be corrupt but this made no differance. I am running windows vista home premium 32bit with service pack 2 installed. I do not have any old versions of office on my system, i did have a trial version of office the first time i tried this install however i have now removed this. I have norton on my computer however i dont think this would affect the install. Can anyone offer any advice as to why i am getting this message and how to solve the problem???
