If double-clicking on one of the ribbon tabs does not solve your issue, and the small icon is not there, I would suggest you post a new question so that your problem can get the attention it deserves. When I click home, I can get the microsoft word toolbar to appear, but as soon as I try to type on the page use cursor , the toolbar disappears. It looks like the toolbar heading is overlapping the actual typing page original title: Toolbar covers up typing page.

I was just dealing with this problem myself. What you need to do is open your toolbar then beside the minimize button should be an icon with a square and an arrow pointing upwards.
