I am trying to set up a VPN connection from a remote laptop computer with a mobile broadband internet connection to a server running Windows Server Essentials. When running through the process of setting up the connection through the connecting to the server in an internet browser on the remote laptop computer, it fails towards the end of the process after establishing a connection with the server and requesting logon credentials.
The error pop-up window says something like “An unexpected error occured There is some type of connection to the server.
It appears in network and sharing; however, creating a VPN connection using the wizard in Network and Sharing does not work. Any help troubleshooting this and solving the problem would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to ask clarifying questions; I am pretty new to all of this stuff.

The router we were using just did not seem to want to work well with the server. I am not sure if anyone else will encounter this problem, but if you do we simply plugged in a new router and were up and running without too much difficulty.
