Error message is: This product installation has been corrupted. I have lost my original disk. I purchased MS Office Academic however half way into the installation it just hangs up and stops running. ProcessExplorer tells me they are owned by Firefox, Spoolsv. You did move the Help folders elsewhere, right? Were there any. LCK files inside them? I renamed them to start with xx. There were no. I quite firefox and tried again. There’s more, which I’m about to add to the question. Then you will get Run command in Start Menu. You may then click Close.

If running Repair didn’t help, use this tool to completely uninstall Office and then reinstall it.
