I did not agree, but if you can’t attend a classroom based course, these books and associated video back up, make a useful substitute.
Having used previous editions I have to say that I don’t find this edition for CS6 as polished as previous versions. There is a feeling of the text being a bit rushed and not quite as well checked out as it could have been in some places. For instance the text says to switch back to the project panel, but fails to tell you how.
There are a lot of screen shots illustrating the text, but some are too small or too dark to read without a magnifying glass. But over all, following the exercises reveals many hidden features that would not be discovered by experimenting alone. I am finding it a worthwhile investment. A useful book, I bought the same for learning InDesign. However editing is different to graphics, much more immediate and unfortunately this book doesn’t tell you what can go wrong or how to fix it when it does.
