I have moved your post ro the Windows 10 forum as I think you might get a better response here. From personal experience I found Fitbit Connect to be better to sync with than the Windows 10 app no idea why!

Do a search in your app store and give it a try. Want to discuss ways to increase your activity? Also, thanks for the steps you’ve taken in order to solve this syncing inconvenience. Nice way to go! Choose a link below depending on whether you prefer to set up your device with the Fitbit app or with Fitbit Connect.

Delete your Fitbit trackers from the Bluetooth section and Fitbit App, then download the Fitbit App one more time and try to sync connecting the Fitbit as a new device.

Remember to turn off all Bluetooth devices on the room when you’re trying to connect your Fitbit to avoid syncing issues.

We’re working on adding more devices to the list but in the mean time if you want to use a device that is not listed here , most of users have reported to have good results when they force quit the app and reboot the Bluetooth on their cellphones, then they force sync the Fitbit and it will connect. If you’re trying all the suggested steps in this article , I think it’d be best to get in touch with our support team.

If so, let me know so I can request a ticket for you. Why do my replies get deleted? They have no foul language, just gives details and asks questions of fitbit. It would appear that fitbit is attempting to hide from their problems. How many times do we have to go down this path? Both my wife and I still have sync issues.

All your trouble shooting steps do not change other than I now find a list of Windows 10 PC’s that doesn’t include any HP computers, really??! The problem isn’t that we can’t sync, it’s that we generally have to jump through hoops to get our fitbits to sync as I’ve described earlier in this thread.

Again, we have better luck syncing when the fitbit devices haven’t been paired, the fitbit Windows 10 app somehow goes around a fitbit being paired and still syncs. This may be why fitbit is so screwed up with the sync process as it doesn’t appear to follow using devices that are Bluetooth paired with the PC. And fitbit actually say to disable other Bluetooth devices to avoid conflict??

This isn’t realistic! My wife’s Alta HR has no way to be shut off or Bluetooth disabled. We have at least 12 devices in the house that have Bluetooth and for fitbit to suggest that other Bluetooth devices be disabled to allow sync is ludicrous. Now it’s your turn to answer the question I’ve asked you earlier in this thread; Do you have a Windows 10 PC with built in Bluetooth that you can sync your fitbit Alta HR or Charge 2 with without issue? I’m guessing that since you didn’t answer this question that you’ve done nothing to verify that sync works consistently between these fitbit devices and a Windows 10 PC.

Thanks for sharing all those details about how you’re syncing your Fitbit trackers and follow the suggested steps. You will find more details about the syncing process here: How do Fitbit devices sync their data? You can also try the Fitbit Connect to s ync automatically every 15 to 30 minutes when the Fitbit device and computer are nearby and the dongle is plugged in. If you keep having issues with your devices I can request a new for you if wish, our team will be glad to give you a hand with your devices.

I want to set up my old Alta for him. We have a brand new Windows 10 computer. If not, how can we use the dongle for the Alta on this new computer.

We have four dongles here at the house, so finding one is not the problem! I hate to be so clueless, but I am new to windows 10 which complicates things. We had Windows 7 up until January 4. How are you? About your inquiry, you do have the option to connect your Alta HR without the Wireless Dongle with your computer if it meets the Fitbit requirements.

The Fitbit Connect is an old program we used to use in computers with no Bluetooth on it. My Bluetooth is BLE supported plus, on Fitbit app, it doesn’t even show the device but on manual syncing, it does show a device name Atom but it doesn’t pair for unknown reasons.

Same thing with your Microsoft Surface laptop with Windows Once you’ve delete your Alta HR from all devices, please turn off Bluetooth of both devices. Now, with your Windows 10 PC, let’s delete the Fitbit App, then turn your computer off, reboot Bluetooth and make sure the Fitbit Alta HR is not connected there, if so please delete it from there too.

Before to download the Fitbit App on your PC again, please turn off the firewall or any other network that is blocking unauthorized access. I hope this works, you might need to try a couple of times; but it should work!
